Thanks for tuning in to the World of Arizona podcast network. I’m Amber. …and this is…7 things this week, June 10th, 2019. Whoa, do we have a line up for you this week! Let’s jump in.
- Starting off our Monday right in Tempe, Arizona
The Offspring is performing an Acoustic show at the Marquee Theatre with special guest Jonny Two Bags. I’ll be honest, The Offspring and Acoustic put together seem very weird to me. A punk rock band known for head banging tunes, stripped down to acoustics, sounds interesting to say the least. Rock on.
- Arizona’s golden ticket is in Tempe at ASU Gammage this Tuesday through Sunday
Step inside a world of pure imagination with Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – The New Musical. What could a more delectable treat than a live showing of adventures through a marvelous, mysterious chocolate factory full of colorful confections beyond your wildest dreams…and, of course, Oompa-Loompas?!
- Brings us over to the San Tan Mountain Regional Park in San Tan Valley
Thursday night attendees are invited to enjoy the splendor of the outdoors by taking time to admire the Sonoran desert sunset and capture its beauty with a Sunset Photography Walk.
- Takes us to Scottsdale for murder and golf!
Don’t pretend like you didn’t understand me. The Orange Tree Golf Resort welcomes Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre. Investigate the plot, gather clues, and uncover the identity of the murderer. This one requires multi-tasking, because you’ll also need to knock out a full-course meal, and 9-holes of golf. Sounds like a great way to KILL off a Friday night!
- Grooving over to #5
If love is your religion and you can’t wait to hear the sound of sunshine, you don’t want to miss this next event. Let’s chill at the Mesa Amphitheater this Friday with Michael Franti & Spearhead AND, wait for it, Ziggy Marley. Ya, mon! Both of these artists and activists have created inspiring and optimistic music for the ages. I’m there, are you?
- The Farm in Gilbert, Arizona
helps us get our veggies in this week at Agritopia Farmers Market this Wednesday night from 5 to 8. Connect with nature and experience the bounty of farm fresh, certified Organic produce. While there, be sure and check out the community of local craftsmen at the very cool Barnone. Yes, I said Barn One, it is a barn…well actually a quonset. Feel free to google quonset, no judgements here. At any rate, this area in itself is a must see…the Farmers Market is just an extra treat. Enjoy!
- Finishing up in Phoenix with #7
Singer/dancer/actress, American Latino diva extraordinaire Jennifer Lopez! Yes, JLo will be performing at Talking Stick Resort Arena on Sunday. Jenny from the Block is celebrating her birthday with her North American “It’s My Party Tour” and is sure to delight fans.
And that’s a wrap! Thanks for listening to 7 Things This Week, a World Of Arizona Podcast series. See you next week, and remember, more information on all these events can be found on worldofarizona.com. Bah-bye!
