Thanks for tuning in to the World of Arizona podcast network. I’m Amber and this is the 4th of July 2019 Edition of 7 Things To Do this week for Thursday, July 4th.
Today’s episode is sponsored by ArizonaShack.com, Arizona’s best home search website. Buy, sell and search real estate at ArizonaShack.com. Okay, let’s get to 7 events being held this Thursday to celebrate America’s Independence Day.
Queen Creek, Arizona is celebrating with their annual event “Hometown 4th at Schnepf Farms.” Festivities include fireworks, live music, a watermelon eating contest, a National Flag Service, artisan vendors, beer & wine garden, a VIP A/C area and lawn games. Oh yes, you had me at watermelon eating contest.
Let’s travel north to experience Scottsdale’s 4th of July Celebration at Westworld. Too many things to mention for this event! Beat the heat indoors and experience a patriotic wonderland at Westworld’s 300,000 square-foot fully air-conditioned Tony Nelssen Equestrian Center. There will be appearances by Captain Marvel AND of course…Captain America, a meet and greet with Curious George, a Stunt Dog Show, Bull Riding Rodeo, Pony Rides and Petting Zoo. Not to mention their “Fortnite 4th Experience”, Wowza. Oh yeah and a HUGE fireworks show. Pretty sure that will be outdoors though. Gitty-up!
It just wouldn’t be the fourth without the annual July 4th Tempe Town Lake Festival at Tempe Beach Park. Bring the whole family to enjoy delicious summer fare such as hotdogs, roasted corn and fry bread AND fun activities like face painting, relay races, live entertainment, the splash playground and an inflatable village for all ages. Most importantly, the Kiwanis Club’s 67th annual Fireworks Specular, one of the best shows in the Phoenix metro. Gee whiz, it doesn’t get more American than that folks!
Join your friends, family and neighbors at Higley High School for Gilbert, Arizona’s Annual July 4th Celebration. Show up at six sporting your red, white and blue, ready to celebrate. Food trucks will be on hand for your food and beverage needs and the fireworks display starts at 8:30.
Waving our flags high, we head over to the Mesa Convention Center and Mesa Amphitheatre for the Arizona Celebration of Freedom. According to the city, this is the coolest Independence Day celebration in Arizona…plus…it’s free! Seems fitting since we are celebrating freedom! There will be live music, patriotic displays, a naturalization ceremony, family fun, and fireworks to name a few attractions. And get this…the festival will also include Revolutionary War reenactments. Whaaat? Now that does sound like the coolest.
Heading over to Steele Indian School Park in Phoenix for the 34th annual Fabulous Phoenix 4th. This popular, free, non-alcoholic family event will feature two stages with musical acts and entertainers, a variety of vendors offering festival-style food and beverages for purchase, interactive exhibits, and a classic car show. Fabulous Phoenix 4th will also feature one of the largest fireworks display in the Southwest. Boom!
Finishing up at number 7 on our list of Independence Day celebrations…let’s roll over to Tumbleweed Park in Chandler, Arizona for the Chandler July 4th Fireworks Spectacular. This is Chandler’s largest summer event that offers many family-friendly activities including live music and assorted food and beverage vendors. Mmm, to me, yummy food is always good to feature at your event. Let’s not forget this event’s namesake…the Fireworks Spectacular will blast off at 9 o’clock. Enjoy and let freedom ring!
And that’s a wrap! Thanks for listening to the 4th of July 2019 Edition of 7 Things To Do This Week, a World Of Arizona Podcast series. See you next time, and remember, more information on all these events can be found on worldofarizona.com.
