Thanks for tuning in to the World of Arizona podcast network. I’m Amber. …and this is…7 Things To Do This Week, August 26th, 2019. This week’s episode is sponsored by ArizonaShack.com. Buy, sell and search real estate at ArizonaShack.com. The British invasion has arrived this week! Don’t get me wrong, in a brilliant way! Not to mention a funny Redneck seeker, friends of Pichachu and bingo from the 80s? Cheerio, let’s go!

Sponsored by ArizonaShack.com
  1. I know, It’s Only Rock ‘n Roll, but I like it. So, Start Me Up Angie…I don’t want to be your Beast of Burden but Wild Horses couldn’t drag me away from this concert Monday at Statefarm Stadium in Glendale. Legendary, immortal rock Gods from Britain will have Honky Tonk Women Under Their Thumb. You know, You Can’t Always Get What You Want but Time Is on Your Side, so you may just get that Satisfaction you’ve been lookin’ for at this show. Okay Jumpin Jack Flash, in case you missed the 12 references as to what this event is…practice your moves like Jagger ‘cause the Stones are Rollin’ in!

  2. Speaking of Rock Gods from Britain. On Monday, the historic Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix is hosting legendary musician, singer, songwriter, actor and perhaps one of the most iconic drummers of all time…Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band. Ringo freakin’ Starr.

  3. Mates, we have yet another brilliant show featuring the stylings of a third British musical legend. Starting on Monday running through Tuesday, Hale Centre Theatre presents an Elton John Tribute Concert. ASU’s very own Master of Music alumni Colte Julian will be showcasing his musical and performing arts talents as he transforms into Rocket Man himself. Go ahead Tiny Dancer, this is Your Song.

  4. On Thursday, the Central Arizona College San Tan Valley Campus is hosting a rad game night of 80’s Edition Bad Bingo. Not sure what that means? Exactly. Students will be able to collect bingo cards by attending Welcome Week activities. The public can bring in 2 canned food items per card. Gnarly.

  5. On Thursday at Marquee Theatre in Tempe, in recognition of throwback Thursday, time to throw back some Red Red Wine with English reggae pop band from the 80’s…UB40.

  6. How do you know if you’re a redneck? Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale is serving up some laughs on Friday with one of the most respected and successful comedians in the country….Jeff Foxworthy. So, you’ll probably find out if you’re a redneck.

  7. Finishing up our list AND the month of August…Friday through Monday, The Sheraton Grand in downtown Phoenix is starting out our Labor Day weekend with Arizona’s Premiere Japanese Pop-Culture Convention; Saboten Con 2019. Saboten Con is a place where Anime and Manga fans can find ways to have fun….programming for all ages and genres, shopping, workshops, themed evening raves, a masquerade and Anime Cafes. Okay, this just looks like a whole other world of color and delight. Domo, Saboten Con!

And that’s a wrap! Thanks for listening to 7 Things To Do This Week, a World Of Arizona Podcast series. See you next week, and remember, more information on all these events can be found on worldofarizona.com. Cheers mates!
