Festivals, festivals, festivals! This week it’s time to get out and partake in rich history, diverse culture, amazing art, tasty wine, epic food and a whole lotta fun. Gitty up.

Sponsored by WorldOfArizona.com
  1. Join Chandler Center for the Arts this Friday to celebrate Black History month with Chandler’s Black History Celebration: Rooted in Faith, Anchored in Hope. This free community event allows you to experience Chandler’s black history with presentations about significant individuals and events, multimedia oral histories, dance and music.

  2. It’s Phoenix Chinese Week folks! Time to fly your dragon over to Margaret T. Hance Park East in Phoenix this Friday through Sunday. Celebrate the Year of the Rat and experience the sights, sounds and tastes of the 30th annual Chinese Culture and Cuisine Festival. Did I mention this event is free too? See you there.

  3. Mesa is defying the expression “art takes time” this Saturday at Mesa Urban Garden with…Art Battle Phoenix. You heard me right, Art Battle…live competitive painting. Painters create the best work they can in 20 minutes. At the end of the round, the audience votes democratically for their favorite painting and bids in the silent auction to take the work home. Art and live sports-like competition…now there’s a concept.

  4. F word alert. Yep, Phoenix is featuring another free, family-friendly, food, fun, festival, friends! If only it were on Friday…but it’s not. Any who, Motor on down to downtown Phoenix’s Heritage Square this Saturday for their Phoenix Motoring Through Time & Heritage Festival. Check out classic, antique, and custom cars, food trucks, live music AND a kids’ play area with a special Cookie Car Cook-Off. Vroom, vroom to that.

  5. Two words…Food. Trucks. That’s right, Scottsdale is bringing the food truck love this Saturday and Sunday at Salt River Fields with…Street Eats Food Truck Festival. Over 55 food trucks will sell all types of food, with EVERY menu including a $2 sample. The event will also include live bands, lawn games, eating contests, local vendor marketplace, kid’s zone, cooking classes, and more. Two words, yes and please.

  6. Scottsdale Civic Center Plaza and Arizona American Indian Tourism Association is hosting The Arizona Indian Festival this Saturday and Sunday. You don’t want to miss this beautiful display of Arizona’s indigenous communities. The Arizona Indian Festival provides a new platform to tribal tourism and awareness by celebrating culture, traditional arts and crafts, foods, as well as, innovations and trends in cultural tourism experiences in Arizona. Brilliant.

  7. What better way to finish off the week than with a little (or a lot) of…vino. This Saturday and Sunday, The Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix is hosting their local wine tasting event Corks & Cactus. Sample from 40 wines each day, enjoy music, purchase delicious fare, all while basking in the Arizona sunshine and beauty of the desert. That’s good, cheers!

And that’s a wrap! Thanks for listening to 7 Things To Do This Week, a World Of Arizona Podcast series. See you next week, and remember, more information on all these events can be found at worldofarizona.com.
