Thanks for tuning in to the World of Arizona podcast network. I’m Amber. …and this is…7 Things To Do This Week, July 1st, 2019. This week’s episode is sponsored by ArizonaShack.com, Arizona’s best home search website. Buy, sell and search real estate at ArizonaShack.com. Can you believe it’s July? Summer is in full force and the festivities are heating up. Let’s go…
Starting our July off right in Tempe on Tuesday the Arizona Music Hall of Fame will be hosting its annual induction ceremony at Tempe Center for the Arts. Umm, sorry folks, this event sold out quickly. Wah, wah. On the upside, the AMEHOF will be live video streaming the event via their facebook page. Live watch parties will also be held at Rockbar and Old Town Tavern both in Scottsdale. Inductees this year are Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, Pistoleros, Dead Hot Workshop, Bob Meighan, Long Wong’s on Mill, and Fender Musical Instruments Corp. If you happen to be in Rocky Point, Mexico this week, a live watch party of the ceremony will also be held fittingly at Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers’ Banditos Cantina. Here’s to life!
Rocking over to Scottsdale, Arizona at Wasted Grain on Wednesday…The Zeppelin IV will be showing us a Whole Lotta Love and the Stairway to Heaven. In case you missed that reference, the Zeppelin IV is a live Led Zeppelin tribute experience. Join these professional musicians celebrate 50 years of Zeppelin greatness. Ramble on.
Now, I know we already did a special Fourth of July edition of 7 things to do this week, BUT it is Indepence Day week and I would be remiss if I didn’t mention another event happening on Thursday, July 4th. I mean come on, we have the day off and we are celebrating freedom don’t ya know! So let’s go a little wild at the Phoenix Zoo for the 4th of Zooly! Festivities start at 7 pm with an All-American catered BBQ dinner. There will also be special animal guest appearances and a live DJ. Guests will finish off the night with a special viewing of the Tempe Town Lake Fireworks Spectacular from the zoo. Roar!
Continuing our Indepence Day week celebrations, on Friday July 5th, the Arizona Diamondbacks are hosting their rivals the Colorado Rockies at Chase Field in Phoenix. After the D-Backs are victorious, Gila River Hotels & Casino is hosting a post-game Fireworks Spectacular show at the ballfield. American style fun for the whole family!
Okay, I couldn’t resist this next one and am pretty sure you didn’t want me to hold back on you soooo….we joyfully skip over to Gilbert this Saturday for some Patriotic Sunset Baby Goat Yoga at Welcome Home Ranch. Yes, you heard me right, Patriotic Sunset Baby Goat Yoga. Correct, I’m obsessed with these quirky creatures, remember? Get your zen AND your patriotism on with relaxing yoga, sweet little baby goats and adorable huggable alpacas. Simply irresistible!
Traveling back over Phoenix on Saturday, the Arizona Biltmore Resort will be hosting Carnival of Illusion – Magic, Mystery and OOOH La La. This is a unique Old-World Illusion show inspired by vaudeville, old-world magic, and a hint of 1900’s Parisian humor. OOOH La La indeed. Be sure and get your tickets soon for this one as seats are filling fast. I have to say, this looks really fun. These illusionists invite you to experience Arizona’s FAVORITE show to Laugh, Have Fun and Celebrate! Bonus, the show has a bearded-lady named Miss Harriette Houdini (it’s their adorable “sometimes-trusty” canine) How sweet.
Rounding out our list this week, we head over to Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino Saturday for the ultimate comedic storyteller Sinbad. Sinbad claims to not know ANY jokes…yet that hasn’t stopped this hilarious comedian from entertaining us for many years now with his larger than life energy and real life stories. I’m down for good laugh, how ‘bout you?
And that’s a wrap! Thanks for listening to 7 Things To Do This Week, a World Of Arizona Podcast series. See you next week, and remember, more information on all these events can be found on worldofarizona.com. Bah-bye!
