Thanks for tuning in to the World of Arizona podcast network. I’m Amber and this is 7 things this week, May 20th, 2019.

Let’s start in Mesa, Arizona with a one hour presentation on Wednesday, May 22nd, entitled “Living with Urban Wildlife” at the Usery Mountain Regional Park. Bring your lunch and get answers to questions like “How dangerous are the wild animals that live in our communities? Ranger B will be sharing facts and fascinating stories about our desert creature neighbors. Cool.

Vroom, vroom over to Tempe for number 2 on our list; Tempe Marketplace Bike Night, Wednesday, May 22nd. Hundreds of beautiful bikes will be lined up for viewing on The District Street. And yes, to clarify, the bikes are motorcycles, not bicycles, hence the vroom, vroom. Get it? Ha! Enjoy the motorbike eye candy as well as live music, beer and cocktails. How fun is that?!

Let’s move on to Gilbert, Arizona where the city is hosting their Spring Downtown Concert Series this Thursday, May 23rd at the Water Tower Plaza featuring Cliffside Push, a local Phoenix area cover band. Attendees will be entertained with a variety of music ranging from Zeppelin to Bruno Mars. Food trucks will be on site for your snack and drink needs. Groovy.

They’re back! Formerly known as Phoenix Comicon, the highly anticipated Phoenix Fan Fusion is this Thursday through Sunday, May 23rd to the 26th at the Phoenix Convention Center. Discover your inner geek this week with a celebration of comics, creators, celebrities and collectibles. Way too many things to mention with this multi-day event. Definitely check it out though and may the force be with you.

(Hum ice ice baby) Chandler, AZ takes us back a few decades on Friday, May 24th, with “I Love the 90’s Tour” featuring Vanilla Ice, Rob Base, Coolio and Tone Loc at Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino. Like, totally awesome dude.

Queen Creek Feastival Food Trucks will satisfy our street food cravings this Friday, May 24th in the library parking lot. Remember from last week? A whole bunch of food trucks on the street. Not to be confused with food on the street. Bon appetit my friends.

Let’s finish up in Phoenix this Saturday, May 25th. Ballet Arizona presents Eroica, An Evening At Desert Botanical Garden. Dance and nature come together to create an exceptional experience. Talk about the ultimate fusion of beautiful ballet, desert surroundings and sunset, not to mention delicious food and wine. I don’t know about you but this one checks a lot of boxes for me. Cheers.

And that’s a wrap! Thanks for listening to 7 Things This Week, a World Of Arizona Podcast series. See you next week, and remember, more information on all these events can be found on worldofarizona.com. Bah-bye!
